"Bhargava Degree College, Samba celebrates World Red Cross Day
The aim of World Red Cross Day is to aid the helpless and injured: Nawab Sharif.
Samba: World Red Cross Day was celebrated at Bhargava Degree College, Samba. District Social Welfare Department officials and Executive Secretary of District Red Cross Society, Mr. Nawab Sharif, attended as the chief guest. This event was jointly organized with the District Management Committee of Red Cross Society, with Vinod Kumar, Rajneesh, Sanjay, Mukesh, Manish, Sapna, and others from the committee present. The program was chaired by the college's Principal, Dr. Netra Singh.
During this event, children from various departments of the college shared their thoughts on Red Cross Day. Chief guest Nawab Sharif mentioned in his address that the main objective of Red Cross Day is to protect helpless and injured soldiers and civilians. It is an international organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
He explained that World Red Cross Day was established on May 8, 1948, commemorating the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the first Nobel Peace Prize laureate. This day serves as a platform to raise awareness about the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and to celebrate their humanitarian work worldwide. Principal Dr. Suresh Pandita, Dr. Dhar, Gaurav, Darshan, Avinash, Rishpal, along with a large number of college students and staff, were also present on this occasion."
